Go Weather Privacy

go-weather has no user accounts and collects no analytics. There is no database anywhere with your name in it. The app talks to exactly one service: the United States National Weather Service, for forecasts. Nothing else leaves your device.
What the app stores
Your activities, their weather thresholds, and your chosen location are stored on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, they also sync through your own private iCloud storage so your other devices see the same setup. That data belongs to your Apple account — the developer cannot read it, and it is not transmitted anywhere else.
Location
If you grant location access, the app reads your coordinates in order to
request a forecast for where you are. Those coordinates are sent to the
United States National Weather Service (api.weather.gov), a
public government service, as part of the forecast request. Nothing
identifying you accompanies that request.
Location access is optional. You can type a city name instead and the app works exactly the same way.
Notifications
Morning notifications are off until you turn them on, per activity. They are composed and scheduled entirely on your device, from a forecast it has already fetched. No server is involved and nothing about them leaves your phone — the text you read was written on your device, not sent to it.
Turning notifications off, or deleting the app, removes any that are still scheduled.
What is never collected
- No name, email address, or account of any kind
- No advertising identifiers, and no tracking across apps or websites
- No analytics, crash reporting, or usage telemetry
- No third-party SDKs that collect data
Purchases
The one-time Pro unlock is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. The app is told only whether the purchase exists. Payment details are never seen by, or available to, the app or its developer.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes everything stored on the device. To remove the synced copy, turn off iCloud Drive for go-weather in Settings, or delete the app on every device signed in to that Apple account.
Children
go-weather is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will change with it.

A note on forecasts
Not a privacy matter, but worth stating plainly: go-weather is not intended for life-safety decisions. Official National Weather Service alerts and advisories always take precedence over anything the app shows.
